Product Review:Nichido Pressed Powder in Gorgeous Salmon

Hi again dollies!
The Holy week here in the Philippines is fast approaching so before the Holy week starts I'll just give you a review in my very first pressed powder and it is the Nichido's pressed powder in Gorgeous Salmon.

Sorry for the crappy image I just use my cellphone's camera here

Since that I don't know anything about cosmetics before, this pressed powder was given to me by my mom. If my memory serves me right, this is really affordable for only Php 100. It comes in a blue flip top packaging like any other compact powders.  The packaging is sturdy enough which is good. The sponge that comes with the powder is a cotton like sponge and I am not really a fan of it that's why I've never got to use it that much until the day that I got obsessed with cosmetics and learn to use brush and latex sponges in applying this powder. The texture of the powder is smooth but not that finely milled and it tends to be a little powdery so beware of fall outs. The shade of the powder is a little white to me so I need to be careful on not putting too much since that it gives white cast. If applied correctly, this powder will give you silky smooth and flawless finish which I really love. Since that it is only a powder, it doesn't cake on your face. I always get compliments with this powder saying that my face looks smoother. I am almost hitting pan of this product and hopefully the next time that I buy this, I can get the perfect shade for my skin. The only downside of this product is that it's not long lasting. You are lucky if it stayed to you for 4 hours. Because of the hot weather here in the Philippines, this powder just last me an hour or two but if the weather is colder, it will last me up to 4 hours without any retouch.

Swatch time
Reminder: I did not use any concealer. I just moisturize and applied the powder using a latex sponge for more coverage.

As you can see the side which has the powder appears more lighter and flawless and it covered a little of my dark circles.

THE PRODUCT: Nichido Pressed Powder in Gorgeous Salmon
PRICE:  Php 100
PLACE:  Metro Market! MArket! (That's what my mom told me)
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:
  • Affordable
  • Comes in different shades. I think they have 5 shades
  • Gives me enough coverage and flawless looking skin
  • It doesn't feel heavy
  • Didn't break me out
WHAT I DON'T LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:
  • It doesn't last long especially on hot days
  • The sponge
  • It tends to be a little powdery
WILL I RECOMMEND IT/ BUY IT AGAIN?:
I recommend this to those who are looking for an affordable powder but has a decent quality. Maybe I'll buy this again since that it's affordable and does it's job.
RATING: I give this product a   4/5
THE VERDICT: It's really a good product for it's price and it's really worth a try.

I hope this review helps.

Ellana Minerals

Hi again my dear dollies!
Today I am going to introduce you to the world of mineral makeup.
Mineral makeup is a type of cosmetic which always comes in powdered form and made naturally. It is said that this is really good for your skin especially if you have sensitive skin. Me being new in the makeup world also got curious to mineral makeup and of course I wanted to try it too. So browsing online, I ended up in Ellana Minerals website.
Credits goes to http://variadolouise.multiply.com/ for the image

So what is the story of Ellana Minerals?

In the spring of 2006, after years of struggling with using traditional makeup for her sensitive skin,
Coney Avellana, then a Sales Manager, tried to find a solution to fulfill her needs to look presentable.
She went online and found out about the miracle of Mineral Makeup. Trying several brands on the
market proved to be costly, as most were still not suitable for the tropical climate, and only a few
offered shades for the Asian skin tone. She also discovered that she wasn’t alone and many shared
the same problem as hers. So she and her friend, Theresa Carbonel, then a cosmetic entrepreneur,
embarked on the research and development of a brand of new mineral cosmetics line to capture
this niche market of affordable Mineral Makeup.

Pooling all their resources  and the help of family and friends, Coney and Theresa worked tirelessly
with their Filipino team with the thrust to achieve international quality standards, with regards to
being environment friendly with their packaging, and socially responsible by employing
mostly women and out of school youth.

The name Ellana means “light” or “bright” in Greek origin.
A perfect name for the what makeup should be - light and easy on the skin,
giving its users a sheer and natural glow.

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics are available presently online, and distributed through a
network of direct sellers and at 4 weekly SM Bazaar locations in Metro Manila.

(Got the info from their website)

I was so happy that Ellana Minerals is proudly made here in the Philippines. Come to think of it, I've been passing around their stalls in SM for quite some time now and didn't check it out. (That's the time when I am not yet interested in cosmetics)

As I browse their website I saw a banner where they give free samples. All you have to do is fill up the form and they will  ask you what is your skin tone and undertone so they can give you the perfect shade for your skin tone. Wow that is really amazing so I didn't hesitate to fill up the form to get me some free samples.

Mind you that shipping fee is not included so you have to pay for it. It's just Php 50 anyway within Metro Manila so it's not really bad considering that you are requesting for free samples which is a good idea to know if it will suit your skin or not.

The transaction went smoothly and after I paid the shipping fee, it already came in my mail the next day yay!

So here they are.

it includes:

  • Machiatto Foundation (Medium Warm)
  • Caramel Latt'e Foundation (warm/medium)
  • Smile Golden Beige Concealer
  • Bunny Blush Pale Peach with rosy pink shimmer (I love the name Bunny Blush hehe)
  • Espresso Con Panna Finishing Powder (warm/olive)
As you can see the sample has 2 foundations,1 finishing powder, 1 blush and 1 concealer. Hooray for free samples! I can't wait to try these out and hope that it will work for me.

For more information try visiting their website at http://ellanaminerals.com/
You'll never know that this might be the perfect makeup for you.

P.S.
I am not advertising them or was paid to do so. I am just sharing my thoughts to you my dear dollies.

So that's it for now.

What do you think of Mineral Makeup? What brands have you already tried? Please do share!

Take care and always stay pretty!

Product Review:Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Honest

Hello again dollies!
It's review time once again and I want to make a review about my very first blush from Ever Bilena.

This is one of the products that I use (rarely) when I am not yet into cosmetics. I bought this one because I want my face to look glowing especially to those days when I look tired. I have this for a really long time now so I already threw the box. So sorry I can't post the ingredients here.
Since that I don't know what shade will fit me, I asked the SA for her advice and she recommended this to me. This blush is more on the orange-y shade which I think actually fits me. The blush comes in powdered form which tends to be a little powdery so better be careful of fall outs. The blush is also quite pigmented so be careful on applying too much. The blush had a decent lasting power, it lasted to me for about 5 hours which is pretty good. What I love most is that it is matte  so hooray for that.

So let's head to the packaging.

The blush comes in a black flip top container similar to that of a compact powder/foundation and underneath there is another compartment where the brush is placed and the mirror. To be honest when I bought this, I didn't know that there is a brush included so I was so surprised when I opened it. The brush included is not that bad and work just fine. For the price of Php 150, it's a really good product and will definitely hit pan of this now.

Me wearing the blush (please excuse my eyebags)

I really love how natural looking it is to me.

THE PRODUCT:  Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Honest
PRICE: Php 150
PLACE:  Metro Market! Market!
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:
  • Quite affordable for a blush
  • Travel friendly since it comes with a mirror and brush
  • Pigmentation is really good
  • Has a decent wearing time
  • Available in your local shops
  • It didn't break me out
  • It is matte
  • Many shades to choose from

WHAT I DON'T LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:
  • The blush tends to be a little powdery
  • The brush tends to bleed and scratches after the long run

WILL I RECOMMEND IT/ BUY IT AGAIN?:
I sure recommend this to everyone who wants an affordable blush but has good quality as well. Maybe I'll buy this again but I want to try other brands as well.
RATING: I give this product a   4/5

THE VERDICT:
This is a pretty good blush for a local brand. This is worth a try
