Phil-Cosmetics Expo 2012 September 2, 2012 (Last Day) + Haul

Hello again my dear dolls!
For today's post is about my first ever cosmetics convention that I have attended and it's the Phil-Cosmetics Expo 2012. I really want to go to the expo when I saw the poster on Facebook but like what I have said I still have some priorities with my money first. But in the end, I ended up being in the expo during their last day because of my family. Actually attending this expo is an accident since that my family decided to go to SM Megamall last last Sunday. I think this is what they call destiny hehe Anyway since I am already there and the entrance is free, I finally decided to enter the expo. Anyway I really wanted to see Say in person hehe

Since I don't want to go the expo alone, I took my big brother with me hehe I'm too shy to take my Mom with me since that I know she and my Dad will also have their date hehe So as we decided to check things out and found mostly Filipino brand beauty products since that IT IS a Philippine Cosmetic Expo hehe. What interest me is the booth by the Digital Traincase, Makeup Hub and other booths that sells imported brands. (So sorry I forgot to take note of the booths name waa) I also stumbled by Ever Bilena's booth where they sell selected products for 50% off! I was also surprised that Ever Bilena also sells intimates as well so I got one too because it is so affordable that I need to get one haha

After a few rounds inside the expo I decided to visit the Makeup Hub's booth again and so happy to finally see Say in person. Actually I'm too shy to talk to her since I don't know what am I going to say but I think she saw me looking at her and going towards her so she was the one who made the first move and gave me a very nice hello and warm welcome. She even compliments my dress haha and I feel very flattered.
She is a very beautiful person, not just outside but also inside as well. She is really a down to earth person and I really adore her because of that. So here's a picture of us (with my brother of course haha)

After that I visited Ever Bilena's booth again and got a lot of products. They are so affordable that I couldn't help not to miss the opportunity of the sale haha. So Ever Bilena is to blame why I am so broke now haha

The Novelina's booth also interest me since that I am dying to change my hair color since that I haven't had my hair colored ever. But I am now broke that I didn't have the chance to try out their free hair color application huhu poor me  So I just decided to tell my mom about it since she wants her hair to get colored as well but as soon as we arrived at the booth, there are already a lot of people availing the service and they can just now accommodate one so I gave that last slot to my mom anyway I already got a box of hair color haha. Thanks Mom! She also got me another intimates from Ever Bilena yay! I really love you Mom!

Overall it was a really nice experience but there is one moral lesson that I learned from attending this event and that is, bring lots and lots of moolah! There are a lot of great finds that you sure don't want to miss so if I where you, you should learn from me hehe. I'll definitely save up now so when the time comes that there is another cosmetic/beauty event, I will have the moolah to spend spend spend hehe

So here are my Phil-Cosmetics Expo 2012 Haul

I got two intimates from Ever Bilena, A Matte lipstick in Scarlet, An Eyeliner pencil in Natural Brown and their new BB Cream! Can you believe it's on sale too! I also got two free facial washes from them. Hooray for freebies hehe. I also got the Lory's Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate for only Php 100! If I really have the money I'll definitely hoard this because it is really such a great steal and it's a pretty good product too. Lastly, I got a Novelina Hair Color in Golden Brown courtesy of my Mom. I also got some samples as well from other brands.

I really had fun in my first ever cosmetics expo. I can't wait to attend this kind of event again.

P.S
I'm so sorry that I didn't take pictures of the event waaa the shyness in me rules me again huhu The next time that I'll be attending this kind of event, I'll definitely take pictures.

Did you went to the Phil-Cosmetics Expo? What day did you went? Do you have this kind of event in your place? Please do share!

Take care and always stay pretty!

August 2012 Mini Haul

Hello hello again my dear dolls!
I really miss blogging so much and it's so good to be back again even for just a while. I want to thank all my blog readers for still being there and also to my new followers who had time to follow my blog and also dropped some sweet comments. I don't want to make this post very long since I want to make more post to make-up with you my dear dolls. So this is it for my August haul.

Yeah I know I got a really few items for this month. It's just that I am now controlling myself in purchasing beauty stuffs and decided to buy what I need first. So I am planning on a PROJECT NO BUY in beauty stuffs after my last haul which is my Phil-Cosmetics Expo Haul (To be posted after this post) I decided to finish up all of my beauty stuffs first before buying another since that I already have decided some HG's on my makeup. This month and last month is also the worst month for my skin because of major breakouts that I had which is really ugly and decided to be more careful now on trying out new products. So here's what I got for this month.

  • Etude House I Need You Lemon Mask Sheet
  • Etude House Petit Darling Nails OR207
  • NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp
  • Skin 79 BB Cream Hot Pink
  • Tony Moly Crystal Tear Glitter Eyeliner (So sorry I forgot to take a picture of it.)

I will definitely make a review of these products since two of the items here in my haul is now part of my HG.
I hope you can wait for it patiently.

Take care and always stay pretty!

Product Review: elf Tone Correcting Concealer (Apricot)

Hello hello my dolls!
How are you doing? I hope you are all doing fine. Finally I got the time again to make a blog post and make a product review.

So for today's review, it will be my very first concealer which is the elf  Tone Correcting Concealer in Apricot.

I had this for a very long time now and I got this during the time where I was just experimenting with makeup.
Since that this would be my first concealer, I wanted something that is affordable but at the same time has good quality so I go for elf. Since that it was my first time buying a concealer, I asked the SA what shade will suit my under eyes. ( This is why I love my eye glasses because I believe this can help me conceal my dark under eyes.)

PRODUCT
I believe that there are many types of concealers and I got a liquid type concealer. It has good pigmentation but it tends to be really sheer when blended. The product is not that pretty runny which I believe is really good. It has little shimmers in it which I think is pretty good for under eyes to highlight them and make them appear much brighter.  I can't really say what undertones it has since I'm pretty bad in describing it. I think it has an orange to peachy undertones. It has this distinct orange-y medicine smell to it which didn't actually bothered me. The only downside of this product is that it's not really long lasting. I think it just lasted me for about an hour during hot weather and about two hours during cold weathers.

PACKAGING
Since it is a liquid type of concealer, it comes in a small bottle packaging with a wand sponge applicator. I think the packaging is pretty good where you can simply slip it in your makeup pouches. I always bring this before for touch ups and the print in the bottle didn't fade which I find good as well. The wand applicator has the right length which is not too long nor to short so that's definitely a plus. The sponge is pretty good as well making application easier.

HOW TO USE
You can just simply use the wand and swipe it on preferred areas to conceal or just dot the product on your face then blend away with patting motion.

VARIANTS
I believe that this product has 4 variants. You can just simply google it or visit the elf website for more info.

AVAILABILITY
I believe that this product's availability is almost available anywhere. Since that it's a drugstore brand, you can simply find them on drugstores like Watson's and other beauty section in the mall.

SWATCHES

Before (See how pretty dark my under eye is?)

After (It pretty much conceals the darkness but I still want more coverage to cover up the darkness.)

Let's see what it can do with blemishes or pimple marks.
Before

After (Nothing really happens no matter how much concealer I dab in it. I guess that this is not really good in concealing those nasty pimple marks.)

THE PRODUCT: elf Tone Correcting Concealer (Apricot)
PRICE: Php 129
PLACE: Metro Market! Market!
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:

  • Affordable
  • Neat Packaging
  • Availability
  • Easy to use
  • Has 4 variants to choose from
  • It pretty much dies it job

WHAT I DON'T LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:

  • Not enough coverage for my liking
  • Not long lasting

WILL I RECOMMEND IT/ BUY IT AGAIN?:
I recommend this to those who are new with concealers and wanted to try a concealer. I also recommend this to those who are in a tight budget and wanted a concealer.

I think I won't repurchase this again since that there are a lot of concealers to try and hoping to find the perfect concealer for me.

RATING: I give this product  3/5

THE VERDICT:
It's a good product for it's price and does the job but I do hope that it can conceal hyper pigmentation like pimple marks and I hope that this would be long lasting.

Have you tried this concealer? What brand and type of concealer have you tried? Please do share!

Take care and always stay pretty!
